Your Dog's Mouth is a Window
Into Their Whole Body's Health.
A food-grade Ayurvedic tooth powder rooted in 3,000 years of herbal wisdom. Breaks down plaque, strengthens gums, whitens teeth, and freshens breath - without a single synthetic chemical your dog will swallow.
Does your dog have yellow teeth, dark tartar along the gumline, or breath that clears the room? These are not just cosmetic problems. Periodontal bacteria enter the bloodstream through inflamed gums and travel to the heart, kidneys, and gut - where they drive disease. Bad oral health in dogs is directly linked to cardiovascular disease, gut imbalance, diabetes, kidney disease, and cancer risk.
Brushing your dog's teeth is one of the most impactful health decisions you can make for their long-term wellbeing. Our Ayurvedic tooth powder makes it effective, safe, and natural.
What the Tooth Powder Does
5 Ways This Powder Transforms Dental Health
Plaque and Tartar Prevention
Antimicrobial compounds from cloves and peppermint disrupt the bacterial biofilm that forms plaque. Kaolin clay's gentle abrasion lifts soft deposits before they mineralise into tartar.
Gum Strengthening
Triphala's tannin and vitamin C content strengthens gum tissue, reduces gingival inflammation, and supports the periodontal ligament - the fibrous structure that holds teeth firmly in their sockets.
Lasting Fresh Breath
Peppermint targets the odour-producing anaerobic bacteria at the source. Cloves add a warm antibacterial layer. Together they provide breath freshness that lasts far longer than any masking agent.
Acid Neutralisation
Kaolin clay's alkaline mineral profile neutralises the oral acids produced by bacteria after meals - the primary driver of enamel erosion and cavity formation in dogs.
Gentle Whitening
The mild abrasive action of kaolin clay polishes the enamel surface without scratching it, gradually lifting staining from food and bacteria to reveal naturally brighter teeth over consistent use.
The Ingredients and Why They Work
Ancient Herbs. Modern Understanding.
-
Peppermint (Mentha piperita) - Antimicrobial and Breath FresheningPeppermint contains menthol and menthone, compounds with well-documented antibacterial activity against Streptococcus mutans and other oral pathogens responsible for plaque and tooth decay. Menthol inhibits bacterial adherence to tooth surfaces, disrupting the early stages of biofilm formation. It also inhibits the volatile sulphur compound-producing bacteria responsible for bad breath - providing genuine odour control rather than masking. Known in Ayurveda as pudina, peppermint has been used as a mouth-cleansing herb for centuries.
-
Cloves (Syzygium aromaticum) - Antiseptic, Analgesic and AntimicrobialCloves contain eugenol, one of the most potent naturally occurring antiseptic and analgesic compounds known. Eugenol has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity against oral pathogens and is one of the few botanical compounds documented to inhibit Porphyromonas gingivalis - the primary bacterial driver of periodontal disease in mammals. It also provides mild local anaesthetic action that soothes inflamed or sensitive gum tissue during brushing. Known as lavang in Ayurveda, cloves have been central to traditional dental care for over 3,000 years.
-
Triphala - Gum Support and Antioxidant ProtectionTriphala is an Ayurvedic formulation of three fruits - amalaki (Emblica officinalis), bibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica), and haritaki (Terminalia chebula). Amalaki provides one of the highest natural concentrations of vitamin C, critical for collagen synthesis in gum tissue. Haritaki has documented antibacterial activity against oral streptococcal species and inhibits bacterial adhesion to enamel. Bibhitaki's tannins have astringent properties that tighten gum tissue and reduce gingival bleeding. Together they form one of the most comprehensive botanical complexes for gum health available.
-
Kaolin Clay - Gentle Abrasion, Mineralisation and pH BalanceKaolin is an ultra-fine, naturally occurring mineral used in dental applications for its exceptionally gentle abrasive properties. Its particle size is small enough to polish enamel without scratching it, lifting surface stains and bacterial deposits effectively. Kaolin's natural alkalinity buffers the acidic pH that follows bacterial metabolism of food sugars - a process directly responsible for enamel demineralisation and cavity formation. It also provides trace mineral content that supports ongoing enamel integrity.

How to Use
Two Minutes. A Lifetime of Healthier Teeth.
-
1Mix into a pasteTake a small pinch of powder and mix with a few drops of hemp seed oil or virgin coconut oil. Oil carries the herbal actives into gum tissue more effectively than water and adds its own antimicrobial properties.
-
2Apply with a brush or your fingerDip a bamboo toothbrush or your fingertip into the mixture. Begin at the back teeth and work forward, focusing on outer surfaces and the gumline. Use gentle circular motions.
-
3Do not rinseLeave the mixture in contact with the teeth and gums after brushing. The herbal actives continue working after application. Any residue your dog swallows is completely safe - every ingredient is food-grade.
-
4Reward generouslyA treat after brushing builds a positive association. Most dogs accept and even enjoy brushing once the routine is established, particularly given the naturally palatable flavour of this formula.
Frequency: Daily for best results, minimum 3 times per week for maintenance. For dogs new to brushing, begin with finger application only - let them lick the mixture from your finger for the first week before introducing a toothbrush. Pairs perfectly with Happy Puppy Organics Hemp Seed Oil or Virgin Coconut Oil as the mixing carrier.
Questions and Answers
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this safe if my dog swallows it?
Yes. Every ingredient is food-grade and completely safe for ingestion. Peppermint, cloves, triphala, and kaolin clay are all consumed regularly in human food and supplements. This is a critical advantage over conventional dog toothpastes, which contain foaming agents and other compounds that should not be swallowed regularly.
My dog refuses to let me brush their teeth. Where do I start?
Start with zero pressure. Mix a small amount with hemp seed oil and let your dog lick it off your finger for several days without touching their teeth at all. Once they associate the taste positively, begin briefly touching the outer teeth with your finger. Introduce a toothbrush only after they are fully comfortable with finger contact. Most dogs accept brushing within 2 to 3 weeks of gradual introduction.
Can this help with existing tartar?
The powder is highly effective at preventing soft plaque from hardening into tartar and at keeping already-clean teeth clean. For tartar that has already mineralised and hardened onto tooth surfaces, professional dental scaling by a vet is needed to remove it first. After scaling, consistent daily use of this powder prevents tartar from returning.
Why mix with hemp seed oil or coconut oil rather than water?
Oil is a far superior carrier for these herbal actives. Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic practice with documented efficacy - oils penetrate into gum tissue and carry antimicrobial compounds to where bacterial biofilm forms. Both hemp seed oil and coconut oil also have their own antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that work alongside the powder's herbal blend, amplifying the overall result.

I have been using this product for my Shihtzu from last one year and this actually helps to lighten the yellowish color from my dogs teeth also helps removes the buildups from the teeth . I use it with mixing few drops of happy puppy hemp seed oil or sometimes with coconut oil and then use my finger to rub it on my dogs teeth. the results are amazing 🤩
have tried many unpromising ones, but there's no such one as happypuppy's 😍
I bought this for Hugo because I wanted to wean him off all chemical stuff, and dental health is critical for a dog’s wellbeing. Safe to say, the tooth powder was an instant hit with Hugo and with me. But what’s even better is that I used the powder on a rash he’d developed near his outer lip, and it healed that completely. So I say, more than just a tooth powder.
Keeva wouldn’t let me brush her teeth, somehow she lets me know given she likes the taste of this all natural tooth powder !
Don’t forget to take the bamboo brush, it’s soft bristles is a blessing ! Thanks for bringing these products out .. they truly are a saving grace
