Happy Puppy Organics · Natural Tick and Pest Protection

Tick Protection That Does Not
Trade One Toxin for Another.

Four botanical powerhouses - neem, lemongrass, cedarwood, and turmeric - work together to make your dog's coat a place ticks simply do not want to be. No pesticides. No synthetic chemicals. No compromise on your dog's skin health.

🌿 Neem Oil 🍋 Lemongrass 🌲 Cedarwood 🟡 Turmeric ✓ Sulfate and Paraben Free 🇮🇳 Handmade in India

Are you choosing between effective tick prevention and products that are safe for your dog? Concerned about the neurological side effects, skin reactions, and long-term toxin exposure from chemical tick treatments?

You should not have to choose. These four plants have been used for centuries to repel biting insects - and the science behind them is solid. This shampoo is not a compromise. It is a better solution.

What Tick Me Not Does

5 Ways This Shampoo Protects and Nourishes Your Dog

🚫

Multi-Botanical Tick Deterrence

Neem, lemongrass, and cedarwood each work through different repellent mechanisms - chemical, olfactory, and neurological - creating a layered defence that is significantly harder for ticks to overcome than a single-compound treatment.

🌸

Skin Soothing and Repair

Turmeric essential oil brings powerful anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that calm tick bite irritation, reduce redness, and support healing of the small skin injuries ticks leave behind.

🧴

Deep Cleansing Without Stripping

The sulfate-free base cleanses the coat and skin thoroughly - removing debris, environmental pollutants, and the dead skin buildup that ticks use to hide - without stripping the natural oils that keep skin healthy and resilient.

🛡️

Residual Coat Protection

The botanical oils do not wash away completely at rinse. A residual layer remains on the coat and skin surface, continuing to deter ticks and pests between baths and extending the protective window of each wash.

🌱

Safe for Skin, Safe for Family

Free from organophosphates, pyrethroids, and synthetic pesticides that accumulate in skin, soil, and household surfaces. Safe for children who cuddle with the dog. Safe for dogs who groom themselves after bathing.

Why We Chose Plants Over Pesticides

Most commercial tick shampoos and spot-on treatments use pyrethroids (permethrin, deltamethrin) or organophosphates - synthetic neurotoxins designed to kill insects. These compounds accumulate in household surfaces, soil, and in some cases the dog's own tissue. They carry documented risks including neurological side effects in sensitive breeds, skin sensitisation, aquatic toxicity, and harm to beneficial insects including bees. They are also increasingly ineffective as tick populations build resistance. Our botanical formula works through multiple simultaneous mechanisms that are far harder for ticks to become resistant to, while posing zero systemic toxicity risk to your dog, your family, or the environment.

Tick Me Not is Ideal For...

How to Use

Bath Time as Tick Prevention.

  1. 1
Wet the coat thoroughlyUse warm water and ensure the coat is fully saturated from skin to tip before applying. This is especially important for dense or double coats where ticks prefer to hide.
  2. 2
Apply and lather from neck downBegin at the neck to prevent ticks from migrating to the head, then work the lather through the entire coat, paying particular attention to the groin, armpits, between toes, and around the ears - tick hotspots on Indian dogs.
  3. 3
Leave on for 3 to 5 minutesThis contact time is important. The botanical actives need time to penetrate the coat and deposit on the skin surface. Do not rush the rinse - this is when the repellent compounds do their most effective work.
  4. 4
Rinse and allow to air dry where possibleRinse thoroughly, then allow the coat to air dry when possible. Heat from blow dryers can volatilise the essential oil compounds faster, reducing the residual protection period on the coat.

For best results: use every 7 to 10 days during tick season and after any outdoor excursion in high-risk areas. Between baths, check your dog's coat after every outdoor walk and remove any attached ticks promptly with fine-tipped tweezers. This shampoo works best as part of a consistent preventive routine rather than as a reactive treatment after infestation.

Questions and Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Does natural tick shampoo actually work?

Yes, when formulated with the right botanicals at effective concentrations. Neem's azadirachtin disrupts tick hormone systems. Lemongrass's geraniol and citral are scientifically documented tick repellents against Ixodes and Rhipicephalus species - the most common in India. Cedarwood's cedrol dissolves tick cuticle wax and acts as a nervous system deterrent. Used consistently, these compounds create a coat environment ticks actively avoid.

How often should I use this for tick prevention?

Once every 7 to 10 days during high-risk seasons - typically post-monsoon through winter in most of India. Dogs who visit parks, go on trail walks, or live near vegetation may benefit from more frequent use. Between washes, the botanical residue on the coat continues to offer some deterrent protection.

Is this safe for dogs with sensitive skin?

Yes. The formula is free from sulfates, parabens, synthetic pesticides, and artificial fragrances. Turmeric essential oil actively soothes skin irritation while the other botanicals work on the tick. The base is pH-balanced for canine skin and gentle enough for regular use. For dogs with known essential oil sensitivities, patch test on a small area first.

Can this replace chemical spot-on tick treatments entirely?

This shampoo is a highly effective preventive and deterrent but should be understood as a natural protection strategy rather than a replacement for a clinical acaricide if your dog already has a significant infestation. For dogs with heavy tick burdens, consult your vet for appropriate treatment, then transition to this shampoo for ongoing prevention. Many pet parents use this alongside tick collars as a complete natural protection routine.
